How to Request Data Deletion
You have the right to request deletion of your personal information processed by Rainlight AI, including any data submitted through our contact forms, WhatsApp Business integrations, SMS communications, scheduling tools, or website analytics. This right is provided under applicable data protection laws, including the GDPR (right to erasure), CCPA/CPRA (right to delete), and Meta Platform Terms.
To submit a data deletion request, email us at [email protected] with the subject line “Data Deletion Request” and include the following information:
- Your full name
- Your phone number (as used with our SMS or WhatsApp services, if applicable)
- Your email address (as used with our contact or scheduling services, if applicable)
- A description of the data you wish to have deleted
- The approximate date range of your interactions with our services
What Happens After Your Request
We will verify your identity and process your deletion request within 30 days of receiving a valid request. Once verified, we will:
- Delete your personal information from our active systems.
- Instruct any third-party processors (including Twilio, Calendly, and Meta) to delete your data from their systems, where technically and legally possible.
- Send you a confirmation email once the deletion is complete.
Some data may need to be retained for longer if required for legal, accounting, regulatory, or security purposes. Where this applies, we will inform you of the specific retention period and the legal basis for continued retention.
SMS and WhatsApp Data
If you have opted into our SMS or WhatsApp messaging services, requesting data deletion will also result in:
- Removal of your phone number from all messaging lists.
- Deletion of your opt-in consent records (after the applicable compliance retention period).
- Cessation of all future SMS and WhatsApp communications to your number.
- Deletion of message history and interaction data from our systems.
You can also opt out of SMS messages at any time by replying STOP to any message you receive from Rainlight AI. Opting out will stop future messages but will not automatically delete your stored data — please submit a separate deletion request for full data removal.
Meta Platform Data Deletion
If you have interacted with Rainlight AI through Meta platforms (including WhatsApp Business or Facebook), you can also request data deletion through your Meta account settings. When Meta sends us a data deletion request on your behalf, we will process it in accordance with Meta's Platform Terms and our obligations under applicable law.
To request deletion through Meta:
- Go to your Facebook or Meta account settings.
- Navigate to “Apps and Websites” under your privacy settings.
- Find and remove any connection to Rainlight AI.
- Meta will notify us to delete your data, and we will confirm deletion.
Alternatively, you can email us directly at [email protected] with the subject line “Meta Data Deletion Request” for a faster response.
Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have additional rights beyond data deletion:
- EEA/UK residents: Right to access, rectification, restriction of processing, data portability, and the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority under the GDPR.
- California residents: Right to know, right to correct, and right to opt-out of sale/sharing under the CCPA/CPRA.
